On Friday (13th September) a wealth of celebrities tried their hand at clay pigeon shooting to raise money for a Surrey children’s hospice charity.

Among those involved were Dragon’s Den Peter Jones CBE, Declan Donnelly, Jonny Wilkes, The Speakmans and TV presenter Phillip Schofield who hosted the event along with his wife Stephanie.

In total the day at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School saw £137,000 raised for Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and the Peter Jones Foundation.

Phillip Schofield, who is also a Patron of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices, said:

“We have raised an astonishing amount of funds today and are absolutely thrilled.

“For over sixteen years, I have been privileged to watch the charity grow from one hospice, to what it is today and am immensely proud to say that the Shooting Star Children’s Hospices are delightful, happy and positive places that make life for those in the most desperate of circumstances, just a little bit easier.

“The charity does an utterly incredible job and I am immensely proud to be involved.”

Shooting Star Children’s Hospices care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, throughout Surrey and across 15 boroughs of London.
