Former Surrey Police sergeant denies seven counts of rape

A former Surrey Police sergeant has pleaded not guilty to seven counts of rape against a woman.

Derek Seekings, 64, of Southern Way in Farnborough entered the plea at Guildford Crown Court on Monday (16 September).

The offences are alleged to have been committed against the same woman between 1994 and 2000.

One of the seven offences is alleged to have taken place while on duty.

Mr Seekings, who retired from Surrey Police in 2005, has been released on bail to stand trail at Lewes Crown Court on 11 May 2020.
