Suspected stabbing at party in Surrey

Suspected stabbing at party in Surrey

Published by Sarah Yeoman at 1:25pm 14th September 2019. (Updated at 1:30pm 14th September 2019)

A police appeal has been launched after a suspected stabbing in Surrey.

Officers were called to St Jude's Road in Englefield Green on Saturday night, following reports of a large party.

When they arrived at 11.13pm a man was found in nearby South Road with suspected knife wounds to his arm and shoulder.

He is currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police are in the community talking to residents as enquiries continue.

"There are likely to have been a large number of witnesses to this incident given how many people were in the area at the time, and we are sure they will know who is involved.

"I would ask that witnesses do the right thing and talk to us, or if you want to remain anonymous you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to report any information you know about this incident.

"This attack has left one man with serious and potentially life-changing arm injuries. We are still in the early stages of our investigation to understand what happened, but it’s hugely important we hear from those that were there so we can bring whoever is responsible to justice for what they’ve done."

Detective Inspector Simon Driver

Officers want to identify a man from the party who may be able to help with their investigation.

He is described as:

  • White
  • Above 6ft tall and of slim build
  • Aged in his late teens or early 20s
  • Short dark hair
  • Was wearing a white t-shirt with a scarf around his neck

Anyone with information should call Surrey Police on 101 and quote the reference number PR/45190097189.

Alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
