A shelter at a recreation ground in Farnborough has been destroyed after being set on fire.

It happened at Queen’s Road Recreation Ground in North Camp during the early hours of Saturday morning (7 September).

Rushmoor Borough Council tweeted pictures of the damage, which it estimated would cost £12,000 to repair.

They added that the incident had been captured on CCTV and reported to the police.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed the shelter, which was situated next to the basketball court, had been "set alight" sometime between 3.20am and 3.50am.
