Woking toddler falls SIX METRES from window while on family holiday in Italy

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 6:24pm 22nd August 2019. (Updated at 6:57pm 22nd August 2019)

A toddler from Woking remains in hospital after falling from the window of an Italian villa.

The family of the boy had been staying in a rural area of the country called Montespertoli, around 20 miles from the city of Florence, when it happened.

It’s thought the boy plummeted from a height of around six metres during the fall shortly after 7am on Monday morning (19 August).

A Carabinieri spokesman told Eagle Radio the boy was “no longer in a life threatening condition” but was expected to stay in hospital for the next month after suffering multiple bone fractures, including to his head and chest.

Italian media outlet Il Tirreno reported that the boy was airlifted to the Meyer paediatric hospital in Florence following the incident.

An FCO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British child who has been hospitalised in Italy.”
