Man in his 80s dies in Guildford crash

A man in his 80s has died following a crash in Guildford. 

The A323 Aldershot Road was closed on Wednesday afternoon (August 21) after a collision involving a Ford and Mitsibushi. 

Paramedics were called to the scene but the driver of the Ford was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other car was not injured.

Aldershot Road was closed between Broad Street and Southway for around four hours while on scene investigations took place.

Air ambulance

 

Surrey Police told Eagle Radio:

"Officers are on the scene of a serious two vehicle collision in Guildford.

"We were called just after 3.30pm to Aldershot Road after a Ford had collided with a Mitsubishi.

"The Air Ambulance Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service are also in attendance.

"Aldershot Road is closed between Broad Street and Southway while on scene investigations take place.

"If you witnessed the collision or have any dashcam footage then please call Surrey Police on 101 quoting PR/P19192003."
