Camberley primary school "saddened and frustrated" as thieves strip minivan

A primary school in Camberley have described their sadness at discovering their minivan vandalised.

The Kite Academy Trust, which runs The Grove Primary Academy, posted images on Facebook of the school minivan with a large number of parts missing.

In total thieves took the bonnet, wings, doors, side panels, front bumper and grills of the silver-grey Ford Transit which had been parked on the school grounds.

Jo Ibbotson, Head Teacher at The Grove Primary Academy, said: “The school is saddened and frustrated by the wanton destruction and subsequent effect on children's learning caused by the thieves.”

She also expressed her gratitude to all those individuals and organisations who have offered time, skills and resources to rebuild the minibus.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said they believed the theft occurred at around 1.25pm on 14 August.
