Milford train crossing working properly insists Network Rail

Network Rail, who manage the level crossing at Milford station, insist it is functioning as normal.

In recent months there have been several reports of the barriers not coming down when trains pass.

The latest of them came at the weekend, with it also suggested the lights didn't activate when a train used the crossing on Sunday (18 August).

However the operator of the track says test showed there were no issues with the crossing and that an inspection also found no faults.

In a statement Network Rail said:

“We had a report from a member of the public that there was a fault with the level crossing at Milford yesterday morning.

“We looked into this and our monitoring shows all level crossing sequences were completed as normal yesterday.

“The crossing equipment has also been inspected and found to be working as normal.”
