Two arrests for "inappropriate sexual behaviour" in Woking and Elmbridge

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 1:53pm 17th August 2019. (Updated at 2:07pm 17th August 2019)

Two men have been arrested for a series of incidents of "inappropriate" behaviour of a sexual nature in Elbridge and Woking.

Surrey Police received four reports from women since August 13 and have since arrested two men.

The first two incidents happened on the evening of August 13 in Walton on Thames, when a woman witnessed a man exposing himself and masturbating in a car. Later that evening another woman was touched between the legs from behind by a man as she walked in a nearby road.

On August 14 man with a similar description followed a young teenager in Woking at around 6pm, before driving off in a similar car.

The following afternoon around 3pm another young woman was grabbed from behind on a footpath in Weybridge.

All four women were uninjured.

Police believe the four incidents are linked.

Inspector Paul McDowell, who arrested the two men, said:

"We have been able to make these arrests thanks to information from the victims. However it is vital we speak to anyone else who believe they may have been approached, grabbed or been exposed to in the last two weeks in similar circumstances.

"I am determined to find and charge the man responsible for these attacks, and I need as much information as possible to bring him to justice."

Anyone with information that could help the police, or who may have been a victim of a similar attack, should contact Surrey Police urgently on 101, quoting reference number PR/45190085386.
