Hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery stolen from Surrey home

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 4:26pm 14th August 2019.

Police are searching for a man after hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of gold jewellery was stolen from a house in Chertsey.

Thieves broke into a property in Escott Place sometime between 11am and 2pm last Wednesday (7 August).

They made off with the jewellery, which included the victim’s mother’s 22ct gold wedding set, a large necklace with a floral pattern and matching brooch, ring and earrings, and a number of other sets of jewellery.

Officers have now released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the burglary.

Investigating officer PC Sally Newton said:

“The victim has been left devastated as a result of the burglary.

"As well as the financial loss, the jewellery also had a huge amount of sentimental value and she is heartbroken at not being able to leave any heirlooms for her family.

“We are appealing to anyone who recognises the man in this e-fit to come forward as soon as possible.

"A huge amount of jewellery was taken and the victim is desperate to get it back.

"Anyone who has any other information, or has been offered jewellery matching the description above for sale, is also urged to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference PR/45190083098.

Alternatively you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
