Appeal for witnesses following serious collision on A24 in Dorking

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A24 in Dorking this afternoon (23 July).

The collision happened at the junction of South Drive at about 1.50pm and involved a blue Transit Connect van and a red Nissan Micra.

An elderly man in the Micra suffered suspected serious injuries and an elderly woman minor injuries.

The road is currently closed in both directions between Chart Lane and the Deepdene Roundabout, while officers continue their investigations.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes around the area, and in the hot weather are reminded to take water in case of getting stuck in traffic.

Officers are appealing for anyone to come forward who saw the movements of either vehicle before the collision, or if anyone has any dashcam footage which may assist the investigation.
