14 year old attacked and robbed in Surrey

Published by Carol Musgrave at 12:29pm 15th July 2019.

Police are investigating an attack on a teenager in Epsom.

It happened on June 11, between 3:15pm and 4pm, when the 14 year old victim and his friend reported being approached by two unknown teenagers, along a footpath  between Stones Road and Blenheim Road, which runs along the side of Screwfix.

One of the teenagers is alleged to have snatched a phone from the victim -  and when asked to give it back, punched him in the head, dropping the phone.

The suspect and the other teen then fled the scene.

Officers are now trying to identify them.

The first teenager is described as approximately 17 years of age, white, around 5' 9" tall, of a slim build, with short blonde or light brown hair, wearing a grey tracksuit and carrying a black bag.

The second is described as approximately 17 years of age, white, around 5' 9" tall, of a medium build, with dark hair, wearing a bright blue t-shirt and light coloured jogging bottoms.

The two were later seen on CCTV in the area, accompanied by a third teenager.

Investigating officer, PC Marc Taylor, from the Epsom and Ewell Neighbourhood Patrol Team, said:

"This was an opportunist robbery and we believe the two teenagers in blue and grey captured in CCTV images might be able to help with our enquiries.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to remind residents to be vigilant and pay attention to your surroundings when walking, keeping valuables out of sight."

If you can help officers identify the two teenagers in these CCTV images, please call 101, quoting reference PR/45190060777.
