M25 reopens following major crash

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 3:13pm 11th July 2019. (Updated at 4:16pm 11th July 2019)

The M25 has reopened following a serious crash which shut the road for nearly ten hours.

A lorry, car and black cab were involved in the collision on the clockwise side between Leatherhead and Wisley early this morning (July 11).

The lorry driver was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries- after the vehicle jack-knifed in the road.

The occupants of the other vehicles escaped uninjured.

The M25 was closed between J9 for Leatherhead and J10 for Wisley, and reopened shortly before 3pm.

Lane one remains closed while Highways England make repairs.

Surrey Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage to contact them on 101.
