Teenage girl found seriously injured in Surrey car park

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after she was found seriously injured in a shopping centre car park in Walton-on-Thames.

Police were called to the Heart Shopping Centre car park in New Zealand Avenue at around 7am today to reports of a concern for safety.

The girl has been taken to hospital and her family has been told.

The car park is closed while officers carry out an investigation into the circumstances of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference PPR/P19135001.

In a statement South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said:

"A person believed to have potentially fallen from height was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

"Ambulance crews attended the scene and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service who attended in one of their road vehicles."
