Renewed appeal as convicted killer remains missing

Published by Carol Musgrave at 11:10am 13th June 2019. (Updated at 11:53am 13th June 2019)

Surrey Police have renewed an appeal for help as a convicted killer who has breached the terms of his licence remains missing.

66 year old Joseph Bagley, who was jailed in 1978 for murdering a taxi driver, was living in Maidstone after being released from prison in January this year on a supervised life licence.

He was last seen in Maidstone on May 12 - and failed to turn up for his curfew on on that day.

He has links to Surrey, as well Kent, Buckinghamshire and Scotland.

Officers say there is a strong change he has changed his appearance. A forensic artist has drawn up images of what he might look like using different disguises.

He is described as whiite, with blue eyes and grey hair. He is approximately 5ft 11 tall, and of medium build.

He has a memorial tattoo on his left arm, and a scar on one of the fingers on his right hand.

Detective Inspector Mark Parry has warned the public not to approach him:

"I believe that he could lash out if he feels threatened, or that he is going to be returned to prison, so I am asking the public not to approach him.

"If you know where he is, or have information that could help us to locate him, I ask you to call police immediately on 999, quoting reference number PR/45190050312."
