Severe weather warning for rain in Surrey and Hampshire

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 11:52am 6th June 2019. (Updated at 1:52pm 7th June 2019)

The Met Office has issued a yellow severe weather warning for rain in our area.

It's in place this afternoon (Friday 7 June) from 2pm until 11pm.

A yellow warning has also been issued for thunderstorms today.

The Met Office is warning that some areas may see 20mm of rain in an hour and flooding of homes and businesses is likely.

Heavy showers are likely to cause some travel disruption as spray and flooding on roads could make journey times longer.

Bus and train services also could be affected and there could be some interruption to power supplies.
