Eagle Radio celebrates Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care

Eagle Radio celebrates Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care

Published by Carol Musgrave at 7:18am 24th May 2019.

It's a big day here at Eagle Radio as we support one of Surrey and Hampshire's longstanding local charities.

We're helping celebrate Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care's 40th anniversary by hosting a Radiothon - dedicating all day of programming to raising funds.

Over the past 40 years, Phyllis Tuckwell has been providing supportive and compassionate end of life care for adult patients and families who are living with an advanced or terminal illness, such as cancer.

The charity provides care across West Surrey and North East Hampshire and works from the hospice in Farnham and the Beacon Centre in Guildford. Over 250 patients, relatives and carers are supported every day.

Today, we are going to aim to raise £40,000 to help fund one of the Phyllis Tuckwell nurses.

Eagle Radio's Radiothon runs until 7pm, with staff, volunteers and supporters of Phyllis Tuckwell also taking part.

A number of fundraising initiatives are taking place across the 12 hours, including:

  • Song requests in return for a donation to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care
  • An online auction with 'money can't buy' items.
  • Instant sale items and experiences on the Eagle Radio voucher shop
