Changes to Surrey and Hampshire trains over Easter

South Western Railway trains

If you plan on using the trains this Easter long weekend, you are advised to check before you travel.

South Western Railway will run a Saturday timetable on Good Friday and Easter Monday, except for alterations due to engineering works - see below.

Some early morning services will be altered to fit in with other operators running a different service pattern.

Changes to services on all routes through Wimbledon for track replacement work:

Services not listed may still have minor alterations – passengers should check times before travelling.

Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday service:

  • Stopping services from Poole to London Waterloo will be diverted between Woking and Clapham Junction with longer journey times.
  • Trains between London Waterloo, Haslemere and Portsmouth will run to a revised timetable.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Eastleigh will only run between Basingstoke and Portsmouth.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke/Alton. Trains will join and divide at Woking.
  • Stopping services between London Waterloo and Salisbury will only run between Basingstoke and Salisbury.
  • There will be no South Western Railway service between London Waterloo and Dorking. Please use Southern train services between Epsom and Dorking.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Guildford via Cobham.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Chessington South.
  • A shuttle train service will run between Surbiton and Hampton Court.
  • Trains between London Waterloo and Woking will make extra stops to cover for other altered services.
  • Trains will run between London Waterloo and Kingston via Richmond. Passengers for Kingston via Wimbledon please use Shepperton services.
  • The circular service to Hounslow via Twickenham and via Brentford will not run. Please use other train services and change trains as necessary.

Sunday service

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Weymouth will be diverted due to work at Basingstoke – please see separate section. Trains will leave London Waterloo earlier than normal.
  • Train services to Poole and to Portsmouth via Eastleigh will be replaced by buses between Basingstoke and Winchester – please see separate section for work in the Basingstoke area.
  • Train services to Salisbury and Exeter will be replaced by buses between Basingstoke and Andover – please see separate section for work in the Basingstoke area.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Basingstoke/Alton throughout the day.
  • Train services will run between London Waterloo and Guildford via Cobham throughout the day.
  • An hourly train service will run between London Waterloo and Chessington South.
  • A shuttle train service will run between Surbiton and Hampton Court. Berrylands will be served by stopping trains to Guildford via Woking.

Services not listed may still have minor alterations - please check times before travelling.

Some Sunday services will make extra stops and run a few minutes earlier than normal for part of their journey - check before you travel.

The London Underground platforms at Wimbledon will also be shut and there will be no District Line service to or from Wimbledon during the holiday weekend.
