Surrey Police windscreen

Published by Lucinda Horsley at 9:30am 15th April 2019. (Updated at 9:32am 15th April 2019)

An image of a smashed police windscreen has sparked outrage on social media, after vandals targeted the vehicle over the weekend.

The car was parked along Rectory Lane in Chipstead on Saturday evening when it happened (April 13).

Reigate and Banstead Beat attributed the damage to "some idiot (or idiots)" in a Facebook post showing the extent of the damage.

"So, that a perfectly good police car off the road for a bit.", the post reads.

Surrey Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them on 101, with the reference number: 45190038331.
