Man arrested for drug driving after Chiddingfold police chase

Woodside Road Chiddingfold

Published by Josh Kerr at 3:12pm 11th February 2019.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested for driving and drugs offences following a pursuit in Chiddingfold in the early hours of Saturday (9 February).

The driver was first spotted around 12.45am at the Cherry Tree roundabout in Milford by officers on patrol.

He failed to stop when requested to, so officers pursued the vehicle through the village before a stinger device was deployed, partially deflating the car’s tyres.

The driver was detained in Woodside Road at around 1am after attempting to flee from the vehicle.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of disqualified driving and failing to stop.

Following further enquiries, he was also arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, possession of class A drugs and driving under the influence of drugs.

He has since been released from police custody but remains under investigation.
