Trains running at slower speeds across South Western Railway

Trains running at slower speeds across South Western Railway

Published by Carol Musgrave at 9:48am 18th January 2019. (Updated at 10:08am 18th January 2019)

Rail services are disrupted across the South Western Railway network this morning because of signalling problems.

Congestion between Clapham and Waterloo means trains are running at reduced speed on all lines.

Services between the two stations could be delayed by up to 15 minutes.

The operator says disruption is expected until 10:30am.

Trains on the Haslemere-bound line are having to run at slower speeds because of a track circuit failure in the Liphook area.

Delays on this line could go on until midday.

A signalling failure between Feltham and Barnes means fewer trains are running on the Richmond-bound line.

It is affecting Reading to Waterloo services which are being diverted via Hounslow.

The disruption could go on until 10:30am.
