Woman killed outside Effingham School named

A woman killed in a collision outside a school in Effingham has been named as Gillian Allen.

The 57-year-old from Bookham died after her moped was involved in a collision with two cars.

It happened on Lower Road near Howard of Effingham School at around 9:30am on the morning of 9 January.

Police and ambulance crews attended, but despite their best efforts Mrs Allen was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the incident a 31-year-old woman from Epsom was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. She has since been released under investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision, particularly anyone with any dashcam footage, is asked to contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference PR/P19006368.
