Average speed cameras to be installed on A3 in Guildford

Average speed cameras are to be installed on the A3 in Guildford as part of a number of planned works on the route.

From Monday there will be overnight closures in place on parts of the A3, with more scheduled for later in the week.

The works also include signage, lighting and maintenance on the Hindhead tunnel.

Shackleford: Signage

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 14 January. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Milford and return.

Compton: Signage

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 14 January. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Milford and return.

Hindhead Tunnel: Maintenance

The northbound tunnel will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 14 January for 4 nights.  Traffic will be diverted through the southbound tunnel in contraflow under a 40mph speed limit.

Guildford: Technology

Work to improve safety by installing average speed cameras on the A3 northbound carriageway at Guildford starts this week.

The A3 northbound carriageway will be closed from Compton to the Stoke Interchange overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 16 January for 3 nights.

A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the B3000, the A31 Hogs Back and Guildford.

Ockham: Street Lighting

The southbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 14 January for 5 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the next available junction.
