Blustery start to weekend in Surrey and Hampshire

rain

Published by Carol Musgrave at 8:29am 7th December 2018. (Updated at 8:48am 7th December 2018)

Wet and windy condition look set to continue over the next two days in our area.

The Met Office is forecasting a mix of showers, wind and sunshine this weekend.

Unlike Scotland, Wales and the South West, where there are warnings for wind and rain, we are not expecting any alerts in our area at this stage.

However, it is staying windy through to Sunday.

This morning the Met Office predicts more heavy rain, which will gradually clear, followed by some sunny spells.

We could get a few showers this afternoon.

Highs of 14 °C are forecast, but it is turning colder throughout the day, with lows of 4 °C overnight.

Those blustery showers are also returning tonight, and while the forecast is for a mostly sunny day tomorrow, it is still going to be windy - with showers in the afternoon.

Here is the Met Office's forecast for the next few days:

Tonight:
Wind strengthening with some clear spells during the evening and further blustery showers later in the night. Feeling rather cold in the wind. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Saturday:
A windy day, with gales likely over coastal areas during the morning. Mostly sunny with a few residual showers, but cloudier with further showers in the afternoon, heavy at times. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:
Showers clearing south-east on Sunday, then often sunny but cold, with overnight frosts and a few isolated freezing fog patches through the period. Breezy near the coast with isolated showers.
