A331 reopens after electricity pylon fire near Farnham

traffic leader cars queue

Published by Josh Kerr at 4:13pm 30th November 2018.

The A331 has reopened after an electricity pylon caught fire above the roundabout linking it with the A31 Hogsback near Farnham.

All approaches had been shut in both directions between the A31 Hogs Back and the A323 Aldershot roundabout.

The closure had caused major traffic disruption since Surrey Fire and Rescue were called out before 2am to find the pylon ablaze.

The power was isolated and the fire put out by 5:30am.

Surrey Fire and Rescue left the scene after handing over to engineers with the Electricity Board.
