Is this the unluckiest dog in Surrey?

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 12:02pm 11th October 2018. (Updated at 4:56pm 11th October 2018)

A five-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier is stuck at Surrey's Millbrook centre after more than a year looking for a new home.

Stella has spent 379 days searching for an owner after originally being rescued by the RSPCA in Bristol.

Having spent 10 months being overlooked in Bristol, she was moved to RSPCA Millbrook in Chobham but is still there a further three months on.

Joss Iveson, Animal Care Assistant, from RSPCA Millbrook said: “On average we rehome two dogs a week at Millbrook so Stella has had to watch her kennel mates find homes while she patiently waits for her chance at happiness.

“Stella is an absolutely lovely dog, she is so playful and loves playing with footballs, she is intelligent and will give them up on command. I just can’t understand why she has been waiting so long.”

She added: "Stella is looking for a very patient and experienced home. We feel that Stella is much more comfortable around women at the moment and this may need to be taken into consideration for her new home.

"Stella is looking for a very patient and experienced home. Stella will need to live in an adult only home. She would benefit from further basic training.

The RSPCA are appealing to anyone who could offer Stella a suitable home to come forward and contact them.
