Teenage boy shot in Godalming

A teenage boy has been shot in Godalming. 

Police were called at around 9pm last night (Monday July 9) to Lea Coach Road after receiving reports of a teenage boy who had been injured. 

The boy sustained serious injuries, believed to be from a firearm. 

Police say his injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this stage. 

A man in his 50's from Thursley has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a woman in her 40's from Thursley has been arrested for conspiracy to murder. 

Inspector Gary Smith, of the Waverley Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “I understand that residents in Waverley must be concerned by the events of last night.

We do believe this was an isolated event, and we have seized the firearm believed to be used in the incident, and there is nothing to indicate any other persons are at risk.”
