Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 6:16pm 13th June 2018. (Updated at 5:51am 14th June 2018)

Travellers who pitched up at Stoke Park in Guildford have been told they must leave by midday on Thursday (14 June).

More than 30 caravans parked up there on Tuesday night, near to Guildford High School's sports centre.

At around 3:30pm this afternoon the police supported Guildford Borough Council in serving them with a S77 direction to leave.

Deputy Leader of Guildford Borough Council, Cllr Matt Furniss has given this update:

Over the past few days, travellers also pitched up in Woking and Farnham - at St John's Lye in St John's village, and Farnham town centre Central Car Park.

In Farnham, Waverley Borough Council had served travellers a direction to leave by 1pm today, but having failed to do so they have now been issued with a summons to appear at Guildford Magistrates' court tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Woking Borough Council has confirmed that after serving papers to leave by 9am today, the group at St John's Lye has moved on.
