'Suspicious package' found at Surrey Tesco

Tesco in Horley was evacuated today following the discovery of a 'suspicious package'.

Surrey Police were called to the scene in Hookwood, Horley at around 2pm after a member of staff found a suspicious looking package. 

The store was evacuated and police cordoned off the area. 

Later this afternoon, police confirmed the package was not suspicious.

Surrey Police said: "The package found outside the Tesco store in Reigate Road, Hookwood, has been examined and is not believed to be suspicious.

"The cordon has been lifted and the store is expected to reopen shortly."
