Primary school applications: Results out today

Back to School: Kids working

6:00am 16th April 2018
(Updated 6:07am 16th April 2018)

It is a big day for parents across our area.

They are finding out today if their application for their children's first choice of primary schools has been successful.

Surrey and Hampshire councils will notify them today of the outcomes of their applications for youngsters starting reception or junior school this September.

Those in Hampshire will be notified by email this morning - in Surrey it will be this evening.

For both counties, people who applied on paper will be sent a letter by first class post today.

Parents need to accept or decline the offer by April 30.

Surrey parents who did not get their preferred choice, can appeal the decision.

They can also put their children on a waiting list.

In Hampshire, if you are not happy with the choice you are offered, your child can go on a waiting list for a preferred choice - and you also have the right to appeal.
