Woman attacked at knifepoint in Farnborough

Shelley Rise

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 10:08am 9th January 2018.

A woman has been attacked in a knifepoint robbery in Farnborough.

It happened in an alleyway at the corner of Dryden Road and Shelley Rise on Saturday (January 6) between 8:15am and 8:20am.

A man grabbed the 22 year old victim by the wrist - and threatened her with knife - before making her hand over her rucksack.

He then pushed her to the ground before walking off in the direction of Shelley Rise.

Police say the man is described as white, in his 30s, 5ft 10ins and of skinny build. He was wearing a black coat with a thin waterproof-type material and fingerless gloves that looked padded on the palms.

Detective Constable Adam Merrick, of Basingstoke Police Investigation Centre, said: “This was a nasty incident and we’re keen to hear from anyone who has information about what happened.

“The victim mentioned hearing someone calling and whistling for their dog while the robbery took place. Was that you? Do you remember being in this area at the time and seeing anything suspicious?”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference number 44180006863.

Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
