Another morning of delays on the trains

waterloo 1

8:12am 30th August 2017
(Updated 8:54am 30th August 2017)

There was further frustration for commuters this morning - after three platforms were temporarily of use at Waterloo earlier.

It caused disruption to some South Western Railway services - with delays during the morning rush of up to ten minutes.

All platforms are now open and normal services have been resumed.

South Western Railway said it was due to a signalling problem.

It meant platforms 1-3 were out of use.

Yesterday, when all platforms were due to reopen after weeks of works, there were delays and cancellations because of a signal failure at the London station.

Earlier this morning, South Western Railway said: "Train services running to and from (London Waterloo) may be delayed by up to 10 minutes or revised.

"Disruption is expected until 8:30am."

"The signalling problem at London Waterloo, affecting the track circuits which help the signaller manage the position of trains on the network, has cleared and we are now able to use all platforms at Waterloo.

"We are expecting minor delays and disruption until 8:30am today, however engineers may need to close some lines outside of peak to investigate the fault."
