Man left in hospital after 'serious' Walton assault

A man has been seriously assaulted by a teenager in Walton.

It happened near the junction of Hersham Road and Rydens Road in Walton on Saturday (June 17), just after 6pm. 

A man in his 40’s with serious facial and rib injuries requiring him to attend hospital for treatment.

The suspect, who made off on a bicycle following the assault, is described as a white man, aged between 16-19 years old, 5ft 10, clean-shaven and shirtless.

He was also in the company of another male.

Detective Constable Heather Jenkins said: “This is a serious unprovoked attack which has left the victim with injuries which required hospital treatment.

"This is a busy cross roads and we suspect there may have been witnesses to this incident and we are appealing for anyone with information to call Police to help bring those responsible to justice.”
