Fleet man missing since morning run

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 7:28pm 14th May 2017. (Updated at 6:48pm 15th May 2017)

Police are appealing for help in their search for a missing Fleet man.

45-year-old Mark Baldwin has not returned home after going for a run yesterday morning.

He left the property in Kenilworth Road at around 10.30am (May 14).

Together with his family, Hampshire Constabulary say they are very concerned for his welfare as he may have suffered a medical episode during this time.

Mark is described as white, around 5ft 9ins, of medium build with very short blond hair and blue eyes.

He was last seen wearing black running trousers with a little bit of blue on, a black jacket and blue trainers.

Mark usually goes for a run at Fleet Pond, Basingstoke Canal or Velmead Woods.

However, police say it is possible he chose another route.

Police are advising members of the public not to conduct their own searches, as a specialist search team will be out today (Monday 15 May) assisted by the National Police Air Service helicopter.

Sergeant Matt Sard said: “We appreciate the overwhelming support we have received from members of the public, and we know that people have expressed an interest in helping with the search.

“However, too many people in the area may impede our search efforts and in particular cause a difficulty for the search helicopter.

“If you want to help, please continue to share our appeals and report any sightings of Mark to police immediately.”

If you happen to be in these areas during your daily business and you see Mark, please call 999 and stay with him if possible, and administer first aid if it is required.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101, or 999 where appropriate.
