Over 150 children have enjoyed a kick about with Roy Hodgson in Guildford today.

The England boss is coaching youngsters at Merrist Wood College for charity.

All the money raised will go to Mane Chance Sanctuary, which helps abandoned horses.

Roy Hodgson said the day was not about the teaching, but to have some fun in shared interests:

"I am very happy to be able to combine the chance to coach some aspiring young footballers along with some well known friends and at the same time, supporting a wonderful charity who do such great work.

"What inspired me was a chance to help the charity and to come and have a morning and afternoon with some children who share my love and passion for the game.

"What we want them to do is enjoy the day, and if they get any hints and tips from the coaching then that's a bonus.

Jenny Seagrove, founder of Mane Chance Sanctuary, said: "To have Roy Hodgson, the manager of England, run a Soccer school for Mane Chance is incredibly exciting for us all and an assurance that it will be a great day for all involved.

"We are delighted and proud in equal measure."
