Relief as Epsom explosion fears subside

Relief as Epsom explosion fears subside

Published by the Eagle Radio News Team at 6:06am 15th July 2015. (Updated at 3:46pm 15th July 2015)

There is relief for people in Epsom as fears of an explosion subside.

Residents near Epsom General Hospital were evacuated last night after a van fire.

Emergency crews were worried about nearby cylinders overheating and exploding.

A 50-metre exclusion zone was put in place and people were taken to a nearby shelter, where they received food.

The incident ended just after 9pm last night in Elm Grove, near the A24 Dorking Road, and people were allowed back into their homes.
