All car parking charges in Hart suspended until June to ease pressure on community

Published at 3:10pm 18th March 2020.

Hart District Council says it has taken the decision to suspend charges in all its public car parks until the end of June.

It said the move was to "support local residents and businesses at this difficult time" and ease the financial pressures caused by the coronavirus.

They added that parking enforcement services would be maintained "in the interest of public and highway safety" - to ensure people continue to park properly and do not abuse disabled bays and other traffic orders and restrictions.

In addition the council said it would not issue any new or replacement residents’ parking permits during this period to "release resources and to remove unnecessary bureaucracy".

Existing permits will remain valid even if they expire before the end of June.
