Teenager says "sorry" after stealing fire extinguisher from Hook garage

Published at 1:09pm 11th November 2019.

A teenager has apologised after he admitted stealing a fire extinguisher from a petrol station in Hook.

It follows an incident on October 17 in which the 15 year old and another male suspect entered the Texaco petrol station.

The boy was later spotted on CCTV making off with a fire extinguisher.

The boy, who cannot be named, agreed to accept a penalty by way of a Community Resolution, after admitting he was responsible.

It included writing a letter of apology to garage staff, as well as being banned from entering the garage for a year.

Officers say they are reassuring residents that they are aware of concerns over anti-social behaviour in the area, and are carrying out increased patrols and proactively looking for offenders.

They are asking residents to contact them with concerns - by calling 101 or emailing the Neighbourhood Team at hart.north.police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk

If a crime is happening there and then, always call 999.
