A young man has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car outside a Fleet bank.

The 20-year-old pedestrian, from Farnborough, was struck around 3am on Easter Monday along Fleet Road.

Police say they were called to the incident, involving a blue Vauxhall Corsa outside Lloyds Bank.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to serious arm and head injuries.

A 21-year-old man from Ascot was arrested in connection with this incident on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs and drink driving.

He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

Officers believe that other drivers would have been travelling through the area around this time, so may have witnessed something or caught the incident on dashcam.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44190137843.
