Homeowner seriously assaulted in Church Crookham burglary

A homeowner has suffered serious injuries during an aggravated burglary in Church Crookham. 

A man called at a house in Knight Close sometime between 9pm and 9.15pm on Tuesday (August 28). 

When the door was opened, he forced his way into the property and assaulted a 52-year-old man.

He also demanded valuables from a 54-year-old woman before leaving the address, possibly in a vehicle.

The 52-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital in London.

An investigation is underway and Hampshire Police are appealing for anyone with information on what happened to come forward.

The man is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall with short, dark hair and stubble on his face.

Officers have been making enquiries at the scene and carrying out reassurance patrols.
