Huge fire at Hook scrap yard

Eight heavy goods vehicles have gone up in flames in a scrapyard in Hook.

It broke out on Tuesday night (June 5) on Totters Lane. 

Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called out after 7pm to find the HGVs alight.

Up to 25 firefighters from Hartley Wintney, Fleet, Rushmoor and Alton spent several hours putting out the blaze.

They used eights sets of breathing apparatus, three jets and one compressed air foam jet to fight the flames.

One crew returned during the early hours of the morning to re-inspect and check for hot spots. 

An investigation is underway.
