Blackwater shooting: Six re-arrests made

Six people have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation into a shooting in Blackwater.

A 17-year-old boy sufffered life-changing injuries after he was shot in the torso in Hearsey Gardens on February 10. 

Yesterday (May 1), detectives issued a series of warrants at addresses in North-East Hampshire, including three in Blackwater. 

As a result, six people were arrested in connection with this investigation.

They were:

• A 16-year-old boy from Blackwater, previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He has been released on bail until May 25.

• A 41-year-old man from Blackwater, previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to murder, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. He has been released on bail until May 25.

• A 50-year-old woman from Blackwater, previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

• A 35-year-old woman from Blackwater, previously arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and conspiracy to murder, was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. She has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

• A 39-year-old man from Blackwater, previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, was arrested on conspiracy to murder. He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

• A 16-year-old boy from Blackwater has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. He has been released from custody but remains under investigation.

Detective Inspector Lee Colvin said: “We continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this incident which left a young man with life-changing injuries.

“We have spoken to a number of people as part of our enquiries but we still want to hear from anyone who has information about what happened and has not yet come forward.

“Any information you have could be vital to the investigation.”
