Blackwater shooting: Detectives revisit scene

Published at 7:12pm 18th February 2018.

Detectives have revisited the scene of a shooting in Blackwater.

The anniversary patrols took place one week after a 17-year-old was shot in Hearsey Gardens.

The incident happened shortly before 3pm on Saturday 10 February.

He was taken to hospital with serious gunshot wounds where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers spoke to residents on Saturday (17 February) as part of their enquiries and patrolled the area to reassure the community.

A 16-year-old boy, a 40-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, all from Blackwater, and a 41-year-old man from Farnborough, have been arrested in connection with this investigation.

They have either been released on bail, pending further enquiries, or released from custody but remain under investigation.

Detective Inspector Lee Colvin said: “This was a very serious incident that has left a young man with serious injuries, and our investigation continues.

“We have spoken to a number of people in the past week and we would like to thank the community for their understanding while those enquiries take place.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who has not yet spoken to us, or anyone who has information they have not yet disclosed.

“Were you in Hearsey Gardens that afternoon? Did you see what happened, or notice anything suspicious before the incident took place? If so, we would like to speak to you.”

Anyone with information should call the Northern Investigations team on 101, quoting Operation Store.

Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
