Blackwater sex assault: Could driver hold the answer?

An attack on a woman in Blackwater, is now being treated by police as sexual assault.

The 26-year-old was set upon as she walked in an alleyway near Rosemary Lane on the night of Thursday April 20th.

She was approached by a man she did not know, who punched her in the face several times.

Police say that, following enquiries, they are now in a position to confirm the incident is being treated as a sexual assault.

The woman, who was treated for minor injuries at Frimley Park Hospital, is receiving support from specialist officers.

Further witness appeal issued in Blackwater sexual assault investigation

Detective Inspector Penny Murray said: "Incidents like this one are extremely rare, however, this was a concerning assault which involved a man that the victim did not know.

"We would like to hear from anyone who has information about what happened.

"Were you in the Rosemary Lane area that evening? Do you remember seeing anything suspicious?

"In particular, we would like to hear from the driver of a car in Rosemary Lane who we believe may have seen a man and a woman struggling."

Police were back at the scene on Thursday, going house-to-house and carrying out reassurance patrols.
