LISTEN: How Hart Foodbank is helping people to 'eat well, spend less'

Hart Foodbank's new initiative is helping people have a healthier diet, while spending less on food.

'Eat Well, Spend Less' is a free six week course that gets people cooking from scratch, instead of choosing fast or processed food.

The course covers food hygiene and safety, the 'eat well' plate, and saving on unnecessary costs at supermarkets.

It is primarily aimed at people who use food banks in Hart, young parents and elderly people or those that live alone, to motivate them to cook for themselves. 

Hart Foodbank manager Christine Siddall shares an example of how easy it was for one woman to make a positive change to her cooking habits:
