Disruption for trains across Surrey this weekend

South Western Railway services in Surrey and Hampshire are disrupted this weekend (29 Feb and 1 March) because of engineering work. 

On Saturday (29 February) and Sunday (1 March):

  • Some lines between London Waterloo and Clapham Junction -about half of London Waterloo station will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday for track maintenance and renewal work.
  • A reduced train service will run in and out of London Waterloo.

The following services will be altered on Saturday (29 Feb):

  • The stopping service between London Waterloo and Haslemere will not run. Other trains will make extra stops.
  • Train services will run between Woking and Basingstoke (stopping service), also between Woking and Alton. Please use other train services between London Waterloo and Woking.
  • Trains will run between Worcester Park and Guildford via Epsom.
  • There will be no South Western Railway service between Epsom and Dorking
  • Trains will run between Surbiton and Guildford via Cobham, and between Surbiton and Guildford via Woking.

The following services will be altered on Sunday (1 March). 

  • The lines between Wimbledon and Epsom will be closed and replacement bus services will run on routes passing through this area.
  • Hourly train services will run between Woking and Basingstoke (stopping service), also between Woking and Alton.
  • There will be no stopping train service between London Waterloo and Guildford via Woking. Buses will run between Clapham Junction and Woking. Some buses will run to and from Guildford, calling at Worplesdon.
  • Trains will run between Worcester Park and Guildford.
  • There will be no South Western Railway service between Epsom and Dorking. Please use Southern train services.
  • A shuttle train service will run between Effingham Junction and Guildford, connecting with the bus service between Clapham Junction and Effingham Junction via Cobham.
  • The normal train service between London Waterloo and Woking via Hounslow and Staines will not run
