Guildford Lido forced to shut during first week of July

Published at 2:55pm 27th June 2019. (Updated at 6:36pm 27th June 2019)

Guildford Lido will shut on Monday (1 July) for four days for maintenance work.

It means the pool will be out of action for the majority of the first week of July, which is set to see temperatures in the twenties.

The closure will come into force at 10am on Monday after the early morning session, with the reopening scheduled for 6.30am on Friday (5 July).

A statement on the Lido's Facebook Page said:

"Due to urgent electrical work required, Guildford Lido will be closed from 10am on Monday 1st July.

"The close-down will unfortunately last for four days and we will re-open on Friday 5th July at 6.30am.

"We understand that this is frustrating news, but we are enforced to carry out this work with immediate effect.

"Thank you for your understanding and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"Members of the Workshop Gym and season ticket holders are welcome to use the competition pool and the gym at Guildford Spectrum, at no additional cost."
