Published at 11:09am 28th May 2019.

A man has been left with a large cut to his face after an attack in Burpham's Sutherland Memorial Park in Guildford.

He was cycling to Sainsbury's Clay Lane when it happened shortly at around 7:50pm on Saturday evening (May 25).

As he entered the park from Burpham Lane he saw a group of four males, one of whom shouted at him: "Oi you, stop! What's in your bag?"

He was then assaulted without warning by a second male, who also stole his phone and bag.

The first suspect is described as a white male of slim build, around 5 foot 11 inches tall, about 20 years old, clean shaven with short brown hair and a slightly tanned complexion.

The second suspect is described as a white male of medium build, around 5 foot 11 inches tall, about 22 years old with short blonde hair and was wearing a white tank top with a thin gold chain.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
