A man who collapsed while working on a building site in Guildford is said to be in a stable condition.

Paramedics responded to reports that he had become ill whilst working on scaffolding at the site in Worplesdon Road this morning.

He was still at height when ambulance crews arrived and teams including South East Coast Ambulance's Hazardous Area Response Team, the air ambulance and Surrey Fire and Rescue assisted in getting him to safety.

The man was treated and taken to Royal Surrey County Hospital by road.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed he was stable en route to hospital.
