Power cut in Guildford and Redhill

Published at 11:34am 3rd March 2019. (Updated at 1:46pm 3rd March 2019)

Guildford, Send and West Clandon have had their power restored after an unplanned outage earlier.

Some residents reported they had no electricity at around 4:40am.

UK Power Networks' website said it was due to an underground electricity cable faulting on the high voltage network.

Temporary generators were connected and power restored by 1:15pm.

Meanwhile, 232 customers in three postcode areas in Redhill have also been without power this morning due to a fault on the network.

Electricity is expected to be restored between 5:30pm and 6:30pm.
